He reaffirmed that Namibia recognizes Nicolas Maduro as the legitimate and constitutional President of Venezuela and demanded his immediate release after he was kidnapped by U.S. forces on Jan. 3.

Venezuelan Ambassador Magaly Henriquez also received Finance Minister Ericah Shafudah, who expressed absolute solidarity with the Bolivarian people and strongly condemned actions that undermine Venezuela’s sovereignty.

On behalf of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Ngurare signed the book of condolences opened in honor of over 100 Venezuelans and 32 Cuban combatants who lost their lives during the operation in which President Maduro and First Combatant Cilia Flores were kidnapped.

Ngurare condemned the act as a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and international law and reiterated that Namibia joins the international community in rejecting U.S. aggression.

On behalf of the Bolivarian government, Ambassador Henriquez expressed deep gratitude for the firm, supportive and unconditional backing of the Namibian people and government, noting that such gestures of brotherhood strengthen historical ties between the two nations.

The meeting represents a new expression of the alliance between Venezuela and Namibia, based on mutual respect, solidarity and the defense of a just and multipolar international order.

On Wednesday, during a news conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Namibian Foreign Affairs Minister Selma Ashipala-Musavyi reaffirmed that her country “stands with Venezuela.” She called on countries of the Global South to unite in support of the Bolivarian nation in the face of U.S. aggression.

“The voice of the Global South countries is a ‘weapon’ to defend international law and the United Nations Charter,” she said, according to Sputnik. “Venezuela is a product of resistance against colonialism, and Namibia does not want a return to colonial subjugation,” Ashipala-Musavyi said.
